Rondeau Ramblings: Relaunch
Five years ago, on January 2nd, 2020, I started a business: Skald’s Tale Entertainment. It was born from my success as a full-time GM and my desire to focus more on shows and written projects. Shortly after, the pandemic hit, followed by the Black Lives Matter protests and something close to my heart: Stop Asian Hate. During this tumultuous time, I also completed my Master’s degree and had to navigate a rapidly changing world.

By 2022, I shifted my focus to academia. I discovered a love for teaching and found that I was good at it. However, during this period, I realized that many people lack the words or vocabulary to fully express their thoughts—and I wasn’t immune to this struggle. As a multiracial man, I often found it challenging to articulate my position, especially when I was hired to write for Tian Xia. Delays, missed deadlines, and other setbacks followed, but they taught me valuable lessons.
Now it’s 2025, and Skald’s Tale Entertainment is five years old. I’m excited to see it grow this year. Starting the week of January 13th, I’ll release the backlog of Skyfire and Ashen Snow, with one episode dropping each week. These episodes will be minimally edited, with added music, some dead space, and bloat cleanup. Later in the summer, Skyfire will be rebranded into a new show with a new cast (though I hope the original cast makes occasional appearances). Meanwhile, Ashen Snow will conclude with no immediate plan for a replacement.

I’m also working on a streaming game called Wyvern’s Aria, a relaunch of an old idea. We’ve recorded four episodes so far and are finalizing a comprehensive schedule. I aim to launch the show on January 14th.
In addition, this website will be reconfigured over the next two weeks to better align with the company’s direction and upcoming projects. Expect a fresh layout and updated content soon!
I’ll be working on a stream schedule and sharing updates on my academic projects. While I can’t promise perfect consistency, this is the plan for now.
For now, I will enjoy a few more days with the family before returning home.
Wishing everyone a fantastic New Year!
